Teeline shorthand outline of the week: Multi-storey car park

Ah, I can still remember the sense of delight that swept over me when our shorthand teacher in Sheffield first revealed this outline many years ago at Sheffield College.

It is, of course, multi-storey car park.

Honestly, I don’t know if I have ever used it in all my years as a journalist. To be honest, I probably have not.

Then again, I have never been to the moon. But simply knowing it is there, out there, up there, is a great thing in and of itself.

And so it is with ‘multi-storey car park’, its vertical layering a visual onomatopoeia to delight both hand and eye!
