Teeline Outline of the Week: After That

This week’s OOTW is ‘after that’, a fine, line-crossing angular outline that, let’s be honest, doesn’t actually get used all that much.

It’s natural spoken home is in the giving of instructions, such as in cooking recipes (after that, add the chopped tomatoes) or in a child’s story-telling (and after that everybody went home and lived happily…).

It has its synonyms: thenceforth, consequently, from that day on and thenceforward. But none look quite as attractively muscular as our outline ‘after that’.
